Indri Single
Malt Indian Whisky unveils Diwali
Collector’s Edition in the UK.

India’s celebrated premium single malt
whisky, Indri, has confirmed the UK
debut of its award-winning Diwali
Collector’s Edition 2025 Marsala Cask,
offering whisky lovers the chance to
experience one of the country’s most
distinctive modern single malts.
Crafted in Indri, Haryana, at the base
of the Himalayan foothills, this annual
limited-edition release pays tribute to
India’s vibrant culture and heritage.
The 2025 expression embodies the spirit
of Diwali through both its carefully
composed whisky and visually striking
design, featuring intricate artwork
inspired by India’s diverse landscapes
and enduring beauty—symbolising light,
celebration and tradition.
Created under the guidance of master
blender Surrinder Kumar, widely regarded
as a pioneer of India’s premium spirits
movement, the whisky is produced in
small batches using indigenous six-row
Indian barley. The 2025 edition is
matured in specially selected Marsala
wine casks sourced from Sicilian
producers, bringing together Indian
character with a touch of Italian
refinement.
Bottled at a cask strength of 58.5% ABV,
the whisky is said to exhibit a rich mahogany
colour derived from the Marsala casks.
On the nose, they tell me it offers notes of stewed
apricots, cherries and plums,
complemented by hints of nutty spice,
vanilla and caramelised honey. The
palate is full and layered, revealing
flavours of red berries, chocolate,
nutmeg and walnuts, supported by an
earthy complexity, while the finish is
long and elegant, with lingering fruity
wine tones and subtle oak.
Surrinder Kumar, Master Blender for
Indri, said: "The Diwali Collector’s
Edition represents the pinnacle of our
craft at Indri, where each release is
designed to push the boundaries of
Indian single malt while staying rooted
in tradition. The 2025 Marsala Cask
release brings together the richness of
carefully selected wine casks with the
distinctive character shaped by Indri’s
unique climate. Every edition is created
in limited quantities with a singular
identity, making the Diwali Collector’s
Edition a unique expression of
innovation, craftsmanship and the
evolving story of Indian single malt."
The packaging of the Diwali Collector’s
Edition 2025 Marsala Cask draws on the
elegance of royal-era gardens,
incorporating arches, elephants and
flowing natural motifs that reflect
India’s cultural richness and the
refined nature of Indri’s single malt.
Internationally, the 2025 edition has
already received major recognition,
including the title of Best World Whisky
at the Las Vegas Global Spirits Awards
2025, scoring an impressive 99.1 out of
100, as well as a Gold medal at The
Design & Packaging Masters 2025 for its
standout presentation.
Named after its home village near the
Himalayan foothills, Indri benefits from
a distinctive northern Indian
microclimate characterised by hot
summers and cool winters. This
environment plays a key role in shaping
the whisky’s maturation, setting it
apart from distilleries in India’s more
tropical southern regions.
Since launching in 2022, Indri has
rapidly gained global attention and is
now the number one malt whisky in India, helping redefine
perceptions of Indian premium spirits on
the world stage.
Madhu Kanna, Head – International
Business for Indri, added: "The UK is a
key market for our premium and
collectible whiskies, and we’re proud to
introduce our award-winning Indri Diwali
Collector’s Edition 2025 in response to
the strong demand from collectors and
enthusiasts.
"The Indri Diwali Collector’s Edition is
known for its distinctive cask
maturations and strictly limited
quantities and has become one of the
most sought-after Indian single malt
releases among collectors globally. With
only 180 individually numbered bottles
available in the UK, this rare release
further highlights Indri’s growing
stature among the world’s most desirable
premium single malts."
With only 180 individually numbered

Edition 2025 Marsala Cask allocated to
the UK, the expression carries a
