A union of
Craft and Character: House of Hazelwood
and Huntsman of Savile Row set new
record at the Distillers One of One
Auction.

In a remarkable convergence of British
craftsmanship, House of Hazelwood and
Huntsman of Savile Row united to offer a
world-first experience at this year’s
Distillers One of One auction. Their
collaborative lot — the chance to create
both a bespoke whisky blend and a custom
cashmere tweed jacket — achieved a
winning bid of £46,250 ($61,761),
exceeding expectations threefold.
The winning bidder will enjoy an
immersive day dedicated to heritage and
artistry, choosing between two
distinguished settings: the serene
Hazelwood House in Speyside, the Gordon
family’s private residence, or the
refined Huntsman Clubroom on Savile Row.
At Huntsman, Campbell Carey, Head Cutter
and Creative Director, will guide the
guest in designing a one-of-a-kind
jacket cut from a cashmere tweed woven
exclusively for the occasion, marking
the house’s 175th anniversary. Since
1849, Huntsman has been the benchmark of
British bespoke tailoring, dressing
royalty, Hollywood legends, and style
connoisseurs alike. Its enduring
commitment to craftsmanship, innovation,
and individuality remains at the heart
of its legacy.
The experience also offers a rare
glimpse into the House of Hazelwood’s
private whisky stocks — an extraordinary
collection built over generations by the
Gordon family, who for nearly a century
have quietly nurtured casks for personal
use and special occasions. Spanning
seven decades and including spirits from
closed distilleries, these whiskies tell
stories of lost eras and unrepeatable
craftsmanship. Working alongside
Hazelwood’s expert blending team, the
guest will craft a personal whisky blend
— an expression as distinctive as their
tailored garment.
The finished whisky will be presented in
a handcrafted cabinet by artisan Paul
Hodgkiss, fashioned from wind-felled elm
sourced from Hazelwood House’s gardens
and a rare piece of burr elm from
Hodgkiss’s own archive. The piece
combines natural beauty with meticulous
design: liquid-form copper accents trace
the grain, handmade gold handles echo
the form of the House of Hazelwood
bottle topper, and tambour doors reveal
bottles resting in leather-lined
cradles.
"It’s been a true privilege to envisage
this design and work with our head
craftsman, Anthony Blacker and the team
to create this one-of-a-kind piece,"
said Paul Hodgkiss. “Bringing together
design, craftsmanship and purpose for
such an inspiring cause has been an
honour."
"This truly is a celebration of
craftmanship, creativity and
collaboration in every sense," added
Jonathan Gibson, Director at House of
Hazelwood. "To create a whisky as unique
as the individual enjoying it – using
some of the most precious stocks in our
archive – and to pair with the artistry
of Huntsman’s tailoring and the
craftsmanship of Paul Hodgkiss Designs
is a rare privilege."
"At Huntsman, we’ve always championed
innovation within tradition," said
Campbell Carey. "The creation of this
one-of-a-kind cashmere jacket for this
special occasion embodies the spirit of
excellence and individuality we share
with House of Hazelwood."
The Distillers One of One auction, held
biennially, supports disadvantaged young
people across Scotland and has raised
over £6.6 million to date. This latest
collaboration — between a heritage
tailor, a storied whisky house, and a
master craftsman — stands as a tribute
to British artistry at its most refined.
