Diageo launch
a new spirit drink aimed at the growing
early evening and ‘Aperitivo’ occasion
drinker, the Haig Club Mediterranean
Orange

With Spring and some nicer weather now
in the not too distant horizon (I hope), I thought
you may be interested in something a
little different from Diageo's Haig Club
brand, not quite a whisky, but a new
spirit drink, Haig Club Mediterranean
Orange.
Haig Club Mediterranean Orange has been
specifically developed to appeal to the
growing early evening and ‘Aperitivo’
occasion and according to the brands
research the new spirit drink has gone
down well with both whisky drinkers and
non whisky drinkers.
The new flavourful spirit drink is
bottled at 35% ABV, it has been created
in collaboration with Haig Club Brand
Partner, David Beckham and will no doubt
appeal to novice whisky drinkers as well
as connoisseurs seeking a early evening
drink.
Haig Club Mediterranean Orange has been
crafted to deliver a distinctive blend
of fresh and juicy marmalade orange
flavours, infused with orange blossom
extract and the gentle signature Scotch
grain whisky notes of Haig Club Clubman.
Presented in the Haig Club signature
blue bottle, Haig Club Mediterranean
Orange is said to be best enjoyed with
50ml mixed with 150ml Fever Tree
lemonade over ice and a slice of orange
for a fresh citrus serve.
Violeta Andreeva, Whisky Marketing
Director, Diageo said: "The launch of
Haig Club Mediterranean Orange is an
exciting step forwards for dark spirits.
We see this as a huge opportunity to
recruit a new generation of drinkers as
more and more consumers are choosing
flavours and sweeter drinks. The
innovation comes in Haig Club’s
signature stylish blue bottle and tastes
absolutely delicious mixed with lemonade
for those Aperitivo moments but it also
tastes wonderful neat."
David Beckham, Haig Club Brand Partner
said: "Myself and the Haig Club team are
continually looking at ways to engage
and adopt new consumers to the brand.
Developing Haig Club Mediterranean
Orange has been in the works for some
time now and I’ve enjoyed helping select
the final liquid. The orange perfectly
complements the signature Scotch notes
of Haig Club and it’s a great long drink
for Summer."
Haig Club Mediterranean Orange will be
available from Waitrose, Asda,
Morrisons and Tesco from April and of
course you will also find the current
Haig Club single grain whisky range available from
specialist online whisky retailers
such as
The Whisky Exchange and
Master of
Malt
