The
Glenturret set to appoint Jennie
Baerreuther as new Managing Director.
 In whisky business news, The Glenturret,
Scotland’s Oldest Working Distillery, is
about to embark on a new chapter in its
261-year history as it welcomes Jennie
Baernreuther as the new Managing
Director.
With a rich background in the spirits
industry spanning over 20 years, Jennie
Baernreuther will officially assume her
role at The Glenturret on March 25th,
2024. Baernreuther comes to the
distillery from the Speciality Drinks
Group, which encompasses renowned brands
such as The Whisky Exchange, Speciality
Drinks, Whisky.Auction, and London
Cocktail Week. In her previous role as
Commercial Director, she played a
pivotal part in the company's
transformation following its acquisition
by drinks powerhouse, Pernod Ricard, in
2021. Baernreuther holds degrees in
Psychology and Business Management from
the University of Glasgow, and she
earned her MBA from the University of
Birmingham in 2023, showcasing her deep
interest and dedication to the drinks
sector.
Originally hailing from the Scottish
borders, Baernreuther discovered her
love for Scotch Whisky while working
with The Whisky Exchange in London. "I
am thrilled to be joining The Glenturret
as Managing Director, at this exciting
stage of the journey. John and the team
have done an amazing job of building the
business and brand credentials, with Bob
and Ian leading the charge on producing
whiskies being recognised for their
exceptional quality. Coupled with an
incredible hospitality offering and the
addition of Aberturret Estate House, The
Glenturret has a unique proposition in
the industry that I am confident will
deliver strong future growth and
prosperity."
Baernreuther's appointment coincides
with the launch of The Glenturret's
inaugural gin,
The Aberturret Gin, and
the completion of renovations to the
Aberturret Estate House. Recently, The
Glenturret Lalique Restaurant received
its second Michelin star, marking it as
the first restaurant in Scotland to
achieve this honour in 18 years.
Taking the helm from the current
Managing Director, John Laurie, who has
led the company since 2016, Baernreuther
is set to continue the trajectory of
success that Laurie and his team have
cultivated. Under Laurie's leadership,
The Glenturret expanded its brand and
product presence across 14 international
markets, achieving significant
commercial milestones. The Glenturret
expresses its immense gratitude to John
Laurie for his dedicated leadership over
the past eight years and looks forward
to a bright future of growth and
continued cultural relevance under
Jennie Baernreuther.

the reins over to Jennie Baernreuther
