Campbeltown
distillery Glen Scotia has announced the
launch of a new two-day whisky festival
in Luss Distillery on the banks of Loch
Lomond. The 'Glen Scotia Mini Malts
Festival' will take place on the 16–17
May.

Campbeltown distillery Glen Scotia is
set to bring the spirit of Scotland’s
smallest whisky-producing region to Luss
this spring with the launch of a new
two-day whisky festival.
The 'Glen Scotia Mini Malts Festival'
(16–17 May) will serve as a smaller,
more intimate version of the
distillery’s annual Campbeltown Malts
Festival, a well-established event on
the global whisky calendar.
Visitors will have the opportunity to
sample Glen Scotia's acclaimed range of
single malt whiskies while learning more
about the craftsmanship behind the
distillery’s signature style through a
series of experimental tastings inspired
by its latest releases.
Hosted at Luss Distillery – the newly
opened, state-of-the-art spirits
destination from Loch Lomond Group
(owners of Glen Scotia, Loch Lomond
Whiskies and Ben Lomond Gin) – the event
offers a more accessible option for
whisky fans unable to travel to the "wee
toon", with the venue located less than
an hour from Glasgow.
For the occasion, the distillery will be
transformed into a miniature Campbeltown
experience, featuring a Glen Scotia
pop-up bar serving drams of this year's
Festival Edition bottling, alongside a
curated selection of exclusive single
cask releases from previous Campbeltown
Malts Festivals. These rare and highly
sought-after expressions have been
selected by Master Blender Ashley Smith.
Guests will also be able to take part in
two exclusive tasting sessions:
- A
'Deconstructed Campbeltown Malts
Festival Release 2026' – an
immersive tasting examining the
individual elements of the annual
limited-edition festival release,
revealing its unique flavour profile
and the qualities that make it so
desirable.
- The 'Big
Campbeltown Character Tasting' - an
opportunity to explore Glen Scotia’s
house style through a guided tasting
of its flagship 12 Year Old
expression, showcasing notes of
tropical fruit and coastal spray,
while examining the factors behind
its distinctive oily texture.
Master Blender
for Glen Scotia, Ashley Smith, said:
"Glen Scotia has established itself on
the global stage, but while our whisky
is full of big character and big
ambitions, our home and our people
remain at the heart of everything we do,
so it felt only right to offer a wee
taste of the Campbeltown Malts Festival
in our new Loch Lomond brand home.
"Across the two days, attendees will
have the chance to explore this year’s
Campbeltown Malts Festival
limited-edition whisky, meet our small
team of big characters, and enjoy an
exciting flavour of the main festival’s
atmosphere."
Tickets for Glen Scotia’s Mini Malts
