unveils 'Campbeltown Malts Festival
2024' limited-edition release, a 9 Year
Old unpeated single malt which was
initially matured in first-fill bourbon
barrels then finished in the Fino sherry
casks for six months.
 Glen Scotia has unveiled its 2024
Festival Edition release, a special
bottling crafted to mark the Campbeltown
Malts Festival, scheduled for May 21st
and 22nd, 2024. This annual celebration
honours the rich whisky heritage of the
region, both past and present.
Renowned for their intriguing and bold
character, Glen Scotia's festival
bottlings are eagerly anticipated each
year, and the 2024 global release I am
sure is no exception. This nine-year-old
unpeated single malt was matured in
first-fill bourbon barrels before
undergoing a six-month finishing period
in Fino sherry casks.
The outcome they tell me is an
exceptionally unique dram, bursting with
lively notes of citrus and delicate
white orchard fruit, complemented by
subtle hints of oak spice. Natural in
hue, its palate delivers a gratifyingly
dry sensation, culminating in a nuanced
maritime essence.
Building on the success of last year's
inaugural on-pack virtual experience,
Glen Scotia's 2024 edition offers
enthusiasts another opportunity to delve
into the inner workings of the
distillery. By scanning the QR code on
the packaging, viewers are transported
to the 'Sound of Glen Scotia.'
Crafted by whisky expert and musician
Neil Ridley, along with music producer
Dean Horner and Scottish
singer-songwriter Jenny Sturgeon, the
Sound of Glen Scotia allows users to
create their own musical composition by
combining distillery soundbites with the
musical track 'Copper Heart,' composed
by the trio for the previous year's
Malts Festival.
From rhythmic cask beats to the melodic
hum of mash tuns in action, these
soundbites provide an immersive tasting
experience, enhancing the enjoyment of
this year's Festival Release.

distiller and distillery manager, said:

is quintessentially Glen Scotia, with
our distinct salty maritime note and

doors to whisky aficionados worldwide,
inviting them to savour the allure of

Scotia team will collaborate with
