Glenmorangie
release the first of four distillery
visitor exclusive whiskies, the
Glenmorangie Cask 1784, a 16 year old
American bourbon matured whisky which
has been finished for 6 years in a
single first-fill Pedro Ximénez sherry
butt, Cask 1784.
Glenmorangie has released the first
of four limited edition whiskies which
will be available exclusively to
visitors to the distillery this year.
The first whisky, Glenmorangie Cask
1784, is described as an unusually rich
and intensely sweet Glenmorangie, it is
a 16 year old single malt whisky which
has first been matured for 10 years in
American white oak bourbon casks and it
has then been been finished for a
further six years in a single first-fill
Pedro Ximénez sherry butt, Cask 1784,
from which it takes its name.
Non chill-filtered and bottled at cask
strength – 55% ABV on 26 March 2019,
Glenmorangie Cask 1784 is now available
for visitors to purchase from the
Glenmorangie distillery, you will
certainly need deep pockets to get hold
of a bottle of the 16 year old
expression as it has a RRP of
£650 and there are three further
bottlings set to be released
individually, later in 2019.

Distillery Exclusive whiskies like Cask
1784. Its years in a single Pedro
Ximénez cask have resulted in classic
sherry aromas of coffee, walnut cake and
linseed oil, complemented by deep tastes
of chocolate, dried fruits and spice. I
hope this intensely sweet and
surprisingly rich Glenmorangie will give
visitors a particularly special reason
to make the journey to our Distillery
this summer, and discover our
exceptional whisky creation."
