Glenmorangie
invites visitors behind the scenes with
its Whisky Makers – for the first time.

Glenmorangie Distillery is opening its
doors like never before. For the very
first time, visitors can step behind the
scenes at the award-winning Highland
distillery and meet the legendary
Distillers of Tain, the makers behind
one of the world’s most celebrated
single malts – and the stars of
Glenmorangie’s Once Upon a Time in
Scotland film series with Harrison Ford.

For a limited time, whisky lovers can
join the new "Meet the Makers" tours,
led by seasoned distillers including
Alan Duff Senior, Alan Duff Junior,
Dougie Murray, and Gordy Mackay.
Together, this close-knit team brings
nearly a century of expertise to
Glenmorangie, making them uniquely
placed to share rare insights into the
craft of whisky making. Visitors will be
guided through the Still House and Mash
House, where the team will answer
questions, share stories from their
decades of experience, and perhaps even
reveal what it was like to star
alongside Hollywood’s finest.
From Screen to Still House
Featured in Glenmorangie’s 12-part film
series, the Distillers’ expertise,
character, and Highland wit shine
through as they win over Ford with
warmth and humour. Fans will recall
Gordy’s memorable moment when Harrison
misheard him introduce himself as a
"Mash man" – sparking a joke about a
"mosh pit."
Discover Glenmorangie Like Never Before
For over 180 years, the Distillers of
Tain have been dedicated to
Glenmorangie’s imaginative style of
whisky making. They oversee the
distillery’s tall copper stills,
renowned for producing a spirit of
remarkable elegance, and carefully
mature it in the world’s finest casks –
creating one of the most awarded
Highland single malts. Now, they are
ready to welcome guests in person,
offering a rare chance to experience
their craft firsthand.
In addition to the new Meet the Makers
tour, Glenmorangie will also host a
daily Old & Rare Warehouse Tasting,
where visitors can sample four
exceptional whiskies in one of the
distillery’s traditional dunnage
warehouses.
A Warm Highland Welcome
Ellie Goss, Glenmorangie’s Director of
Hospitality and Corporate Affairs, said:
"We are so excited to offer our unique
Meet the Makers tours to visitors for
the first time ever. This is a rare
opportunity for whisky lovers, as well
as locals who may have enjoyed our
classic tour before, to learn about the
inner workings of Glenmorangie from the
real people who make it. With decades of
expertise, our Distillers of Tain know
everything there is to know about our
exceptional single malt – and I have no
doubt that they will give every visitor
the same warm Highland welcome as they
gave to Harrison Ford."
