The Glenmorangie distillery has
been producing its famous single malt
since 1843. The distillery is at Tain
overlooking the Dornoch Firth. The
distillery was built using a pair of
very high second hand gin stills. The
original shape of these high stills
still remains today. In fact the
refinement and quality of Glenmorangie
whisky is partially due to these very
high stills which are the highest stills
in Scotland.
The distillery buildings have
seen many changes over the years,
although the Glenmorangie whisky itself
remains unchanged. It is
still handcrafted to this day by the
Sixteen Men of Tain using tried and
tested methods that have been passed
down from generation to generation. All
the whisky produced at Glenmorangie is
now bottled as a single malt and the
distillery is quite unique in this
respect. It is not without reason that
this is one of the best selling single malts in
UK.

Glenmorangie Tasting Notes

 Glenmorangie
10 Year Old Single Malt.
Colour:
Yellow gold.
Nose:
A rich nose, flower and spicy hints with
some vanilla wood notes.
Taste:
The taste confirms the nose, delicate
honey wood taste with a subtle hint of
nuttiness.
Finish:
Smooth and relatively long.
Glenmorangie
12 Year Old Sherry Wood Finish.
Colour:
Light gold.
Nose:
Complex aroma, sherry notes with traces
of honey, sweet. Hint of citric fruits
with traces of nuts.
Taste:
Full-bodied, even and creamy, this malt
has a subdued, sweet flavour at the
outset. Sherry and nuts are apparent
leaving a pleasant, warm, long lasting
after-taste.
Finish:
Light and dry.
