The Glenlivet Nadurra Peated Whisky Cask
Finish as you will probably guess from
the new expressions title has been
finished in casks which has previously
held peated whisky, to be more precise
American oak casks that have previously
held heavily-peated Scotch whisky.
Those of you that have had the pleasure of non-peated whisky which has matured in casks which previously held peated whisky will know that it doesn't impart a great deal of peaty character to the whisky but if done right with a good cask selection the whisky can take on a very subtle peaty dimension.

Morrison's Tasting Notes:
Bottled at a cask strength of
61.5% ABV
Nose: Creamy vanilla fudge, pear,
coconut and just a very delicate hint of
smoke in the background
Taste: Delicious zesty pear and
lemon dances with the mouth coating oak
spice which is all kept in check by the
creamy vanilla fudge. Just the gentlest
hint of sweet smoke.
Finish: Very long, oak, lots of
vibrant spice, zesty pear and a
lingering very gentle smoke.
Comment:
Another outstanding addition to the
Nadurra family. The smoke was never
going to be in your face, just a lovely
subtle added dimension, the smoke
comes more to the fore on the finish,
the oak and spice is very lively which
just adds to the fun. Another very
enjoyable addition to the Nadurra
family.
