Glengoyne
distillery has announced it is
temporarily halting its distillery
tastings but will bring back the popular
online tastings, to the delight of fans,
from next week.

Glengoyne has announced the temporary
halt of its distillery tastings – but in
news sure to keep spirits high, visitors
are still welcome at the site and its
online tastings will return to keep fans
entertained.
In line with this week’s revised
Scottish Government COVID-19 measures,
all distillery experiences have had to
pause from Saturday 10th October until
Monday 26th October 2020.
But while these can’t take place,
Glengoyne are ensuring people can still
enjoy a cosy night at home, sharing a
dram of their favourite whisky with
their nearest and dearest.
Locals from surrounding towns are still
being welcomed to the Glengoyne
Distillery - nestled halfway between
Glasgow and Stirling in the foot of the
Campsie Hills – to take in the glorious
surroundings, cascading waterfall, and
plush greenery; and, perhaps, take a
bottle of their award-winning single
malt home.
Glengoyne’s on-site shop will remain
open, featuring the newly rebranded
Glengoyne Collection, in all its
sustainable glory, including new
releases Legacy Series: Chapter Two,
Cask Strength Batch No. 008, and their
winning Cask of the Moment from their
special live tasting a few weeks ago.
When visitors are finished pouring over
the unique range of whiskies, they can
chat with friendly staff and
ambassadors, or catch a glimpse of the
copper stills and talented whisky makers
at work - discovering the meticulous
process that goes into every bottle.
After all, it’s what gives Glengoyne its
status as Scotland’s Unhurried malt.
For those further afield who still want
to experience the splendour of
Glengoyne, the brand has announced the
return of its hugely popular online
tastings, which proved to be a great
source of joy for whisky fans earlier
this year.
These intimate tastings are truly
special. Participants are led through
four incredible malts by one of
Glengoyne’s globally renowned Distillery
Ambassadors, giving them a chance to
learn more about their favourite range
while enjoying a dram from a special
tasting kit, sent to their home in
advance.
Glengoyne’s online tasting experience
will cost £35 and features some of the
brand’s most beloved, award-winning,
single malts, including: Glengoyne 10
Year Old,12 Year Old, and 18 Year Old, a
special mystery dram that will be
revealed during the session, and a
branded glass to truly make the perfect
pour.
Kicking off Thursday 15th October,
participants can sign up to book a
tasting and receive their online tasting
kits now from Glengoyne’s website.
Stuart Hendry, Brand Homes Director at
Ian Macleod Distillers, said: "In these
challenging times it is important to
reward ourselves with moments to savour
- and we at Glengoyne want to ensure
fans take the time to do just that.
"For locals looking to enjoy an Autumnal
stroll in the crisp outdoors, our
distillery will remain open – burrowed
at the foot of the Campsie Hills – where
our staff can help you select a bottle
of our award-winning single malts to
take home.
"And for those looking to enjoy a night
in with their loved ones, the relaunch
of our online tasting experiences is
sure to raise a smile and warm the
cockles in the evenings. Whether it be
virtually or at our distillery, we look
forward to seeing you all and raising a
dram to you."
For those who had tours and tastings
booked within the window of closure, the
Glengoyne team will be contacting them
to rearrange or refund their tickets in
the coming days.
You will also find the current Glengoyne
range available from specialist online whisky
retailers such as
The Whisky Exchange,
The Whisky Shop and
Master of Malt
