Glengoyne
invites whisky fans to sample four
single cask whiskies to select their
next ‘Casks Unlocked’ single cask
bottling.
Glengoyne Highland Single Malt Scotch
Whisky is giving its whisky fans the
opportunity to select the next single
cask, single malt whisky which they will
bottle. The distillery is inviting fans
to take part in a special livestream on
Friday 28th August - where they can not
only sample some rare casks, but
ultimately decide which go into the
distillery’s latest ‘Cask of the Moment’
single cask bottling.
The unique event, affectionately named
‘Casks Unlocked’, will see Distillery
Manager, Robbie Hughes, Global Brand
Ambassador, Gordon Dundas, and a panel
of key industry figures taste and
discuss four single casks, which the
distillery team hand-selected from
Glengoyne’s Warehouse #8 – the four
single casks include an 2004 vintage
ex-bourbon barrel, a very rare 2005
vintage port pipe, a 2006 vintage
re-fill hogshead and with only two casks
maturing at the Glengoyne distillery, a
unique 2007 vintage Madeira cask.
But in a twist sure to excite whisky
fans the world over, Glengoyne is also
bringing a personal touch to the event,
by inviting their fans to help curate
the new bottling. Tasting kits have been
created to purchase ahead of the event,
via the Glengoyne website, allowing
consumers to take part in debating the
drams from the comfort of their own
homes.
After deciding on their favourite, the
panel, viewers, and Glengoyne community
will then be invited to cast a vote for
their preferred cask – the winner of
which will become Glengoyne’s latest
‘Cask of the Moment’. This cask will
then get hand-bottled and will be
available to purchase at the newly
reopened distillery shop and online via
the Glengoyne website.

the reaction to these rare and unique
drams. Some of the liquid in the sample
kits may have never been released for
sale, so this truly is a one-of-a-kind
experience that we’re excited to offer
our community."
Glengoyne ‘Casks Unlocked’ is taking
