Glenglassaugh
is all aboard as the 2024 Scottish
Traditional Boat Festival which takes
place this June a mere 2 miles from the
distillery.
Glenglassaugh Highland Single Malt has
been unveiled as the headline sponsor of
the Scottish Traditional Boat Festival
2024, set to unfold on Saturday, June
22nd, and Sunday, June 23rd. Situated
snugly on the shores of Sandend Bay, a
mere two miles from the festival's
Portsoy venue, the brand has committed
its backing to the event for the
forthcoming two years.
This year marks the festival's 31st
anniversary, commemorating with a
vibrant gathering of heritage vessels.
Attendees can anticipate a weekend
brimming with live music, traditional
dance, delectable Scottish fare, and an
array of age-old crafts, all in homage
to the nautical heritage of the
northeast. With an annual attendance
exceeding 12 thousand visitors, the
festival promises an immersive
celebration of maritime culture.

always has been, inspired by the truly
unique coastal location on the rugged
north east, where our warehouses stand
against the elements. This is a truly
fitting partnership, not least as one of
our releases is named Portsoy after the
distillery’s neighbouring seaside town.
Also because it was the home of our
founder James Moir, a local businessman,
and Portsoy Harbour Committee who
established the distillery in 1875.

Traditional Boat Festival said:
"Securing this sponsorship commitment
from Glenglassaugh, for the next two
years, is excellent news. Glenglassaugh
came ‘on board’ last year as our
maritime sponsor, which enabled us to
bring back Reaper, a 120 year old Fifie
from the Scottish Fisheries Museum in
Fife and attract new vessels to take
part in the event.
"Continuing this relationship with the
team, as our main sponsor for 2024 and
2025, will allow us to proceed with our
plans to enhance and diversify the
festival programme. The festival is a
feast for the senses where you can see
the finest traditional sailing craft,
hear a great line-up of live music and
enjoy a taste of Portsoy, with a dram of
Glenglassaugh’s superb coastal single
malts, paired with some delicious
Scottish food and drink."
Earlier in the year, Glenglassaugh
unveiled a series of old & rare cask
bottling's, harkening back to the era of
the 1970s. Dubbed The Serpentine Coastal
Cask Collection, this range draws its
name from the revered serpentine marble
discovered in the cliffs enveloping
Glenglassaugh Distillery. Launching with
three remarkable expressions, each
bottle, sourced from a solitary cask and
adorned with its unique number, boasts
an age exceeding 48 years. These
venerable whiskies are said to
encapsulate the essence of the coastal
Highland spirit, a testament to the
enduring legacy of Glenglassaugh.
