Glenfiddich auction raises £44k for Walking With The Wounded charity as a piece of whisky history is auctioned off.

Glenfiddich, the world’s most awarded single malt Scotch whisky, raised an extraordinary £44,000 for the charity Walking with the Wounded on Friday, when it auctioned off the second bottle of one of its rarest-ever whiskies, the Janet Sheed Roberts Reserve Whisky.

The 55 year old single malt Scotch whisky takes its name from Janet Roberts, the 110 year old granddaughter of William Grant who is alive today and is the oldest living person in Scotland. Only 11 bottles will ever be released with each one hand numbered.

The auction took place at The Honourable Artillery Company in London and all proceeds from the sale go to Walking with the Wounded, a charity dedicated to the re-training and re-education of our servicemen and women.
