The
Glendronach teams up with Rusacks hotel
in St Andrews to debut a whisky lounge
offering exclusive experiences.
The Glendronach Scotch single malt whisky
has teamed up with Rusacks St Andrews,
the flagship property of Marine & Lawn
Hotels & Resorts, to debut a whisky
lounge offering exclusive experiences.
Opened last month, this new venue allows
both domestic and international guests
to sample premium whiskies from the
brand’s extensive archive, including
rare casks from Glendronach's parent
company, Brown-Forman’s single malt
portfolio that are no longer available
for purchase.
Named ‘Room 116,’ this members’
club-inspired space features a
custom-designed bar that showcases a
unique whisky collection. Guests can
enjoy all three of Brown-Forman’s single
malts, including Benriach and
Glenglassaugh, with The Glendronach—one
of Scotland’s oldest licensed
distilleries—taking centre stage in this
curated experience.
For nearly 200 years, The Glendronach
has been renowned for crafting sherried
single malt whisky. The Highland spirit
is meticulously aged in the finest Pedro
Ximénez and Oloroso sherry casks,
sourced from Andalucia, Spain. This
process yields an exquisite blend of
flavours, where the robust, rich
Highland spirit intertwines with the
luxurious flair of Spanish sherry,
creating a truly remarkable taste
experience.
Emily Richardson, Brown-Forman UK
Marketing Director, said: "The
Glendronach is one of Scotland’s oldest
licensed distilleries and one of the
world’s most exceptional,
richly-sherried Single Malts, so this is
a hugely fitting collaboration,
combining our legacy with Rusacks St
Andrews which is steeped in golfing
history and prominence. The new offering
will provide an opportunity for guests
to discover The Glendronach in an
outstanding setting, combining
celebrated whisky, a world renowned golf
course and the best of Scotland’s
hospitality."
Room 116 offers a meticulously curated
sensory experience through bespoke
packages and personalised tastings. The
lounge is available for private events,
featuring a variety of offerings,
including whisky tastings paired with
mezze boards. Officially trademarked as
'The Best View in Golf,' Room 116
overlooks the 18th green of the iconic
Old Course and the Fife Coast, providing
a breathtaking setting for whisky
enthusiasts and connoisseurs to enjoy.
Phillip Allen, President of Marine &
Lawn Hotels & Resorts: "Rusacks St
Andrews is delighted to be the UK
flagship for The Glendronach, a
partnership which celebrates the best of
two of Scotland's finest institutions -
whisky and golf. At Marine & Lawn we
bring old-world luxury and refined
Scottish heritage into a new era, so The
Glendronach was a natural partnership.
We're excited to showcase the
distillery's innovative craftsmanship to
our valuable guests, both in Room 116
and across the wider Marine & Lawn
portfolio."
The Glendronach recently underwent a
major visual transformation, completing
the brand refresh for all three single
malts since Brown-Forman acquired them
in 2016. Later this year, the portfolio
will expand with several new releases,
including the Master’s Anthology,
featuring three distinct expressions,
and additions to the ultra-premium core
range with 21, 30, and 40 Year Old
offerings.
You will find the current
Glendronach whisky range available from specialist online whisky
shops such as
The Whisky Exchange
and
