William
Morrison's Tasting Notes (Review added
19th September 2017):
Nose: Magnificent sultry,
enticing crushed sultanas and wood
spice, hiding behind it is a little dark
chocolate and sweet malt.
Taste: Luscious dark
sherried fruit, a delicious mix of fresh
and burnt raisins and sultanas lead,
joined by orange, a light oaky vanilla
sweetness peaks through from behind the
lovely dark fruit, a little ripe
cherries
and then the appearance of a
touch of dry ginger.
Finish: A long lingering
finish, the sherry fades leaving mildly
drying oak tinged coffee and a little
bitter dark chocolate.
Comment: And the Oscar for Best
Whisky selected by a movie director goes
to "Kingsman Film Director,
Matthew Vaughn", a
truly stunning sherried expression from
the GlenDronach even amongst their high
standards this is outstanding. The very
best sherry casks are at play here, from
the nose to the incredibly long
delicious finish it is outstanding. If
you are ever going to spoil yourself
with a good sherried whisky you will not
find many much better than this.
