GlenDronach
launch Grandeur Batch 9 24 year old
which was exclusively matured in Spanish
oak sherry butts distilled in 1990, 1992
and 1993.

GlenDronach Distillery has
announced the next release of in their
premium Grandeur series, The GlenDronach
Grandeur Batch 9 24 Year Old.
GlenDronach Grandeur Batch 9 has been
created using just a handful of Spanish oak sherry butts
distilled in 1990, 1992 and 1993 which
have been hand picked by The GlenDronach
Master Blender, Rachel Barrie, to create
this latest limited edition in the
series.
GlenDronach tell me that the 100% sherry
cask matured expression
epitomises mastery of the finest Spanish
oak sherry cask maturation. They say each cask is
woven into a tapestry of exquisite
balance, finesse and depth, the prelude
to the most persistent and richly
satisfying finish.
The GlenDronach
Grandeur Batch 9 is bottled at 48.7%
ABV, non chill filtered, and as always
for The GlenDronach, of natural colour,
for richness, authenticity and texture.
A limited release of 1,487 bottles, each
bottle has been sealed with wax and individually
numbered by hand.

sherry cask maturation, patient aging

perfection. The GlenDronach Grandeur is
the pinnacle of the signature style,
representing rich layers of Highland
heritage and terroir, intensified
through patient aging in the finest
Spanish oak sherry casks.

tapestry of stone fruit, baked quince
and glazed cherries on a bed of
sandalwood, roast chestnuts and subtle
musk scented leather. The freshness of
oak balsam lifts and lengthens
throughout, sustaining the exceptional
balance and complexity. With an elegant,
deep and perfectly integrated palate,
Grandeur combines a myriad of sherry
cask tastes in each sip. As time slowly
passes, the taste lengthens and deepens
towards an elegant dark chocolate mint,
raisin and angelica root velvet finish."

Morrison's Tasting Notes:
Nose:
Demerara sweetened rum soaked
dates and cherries, a touch of dry
leather and mature oak.
Taste:
Deliciously juicy sherry infused mature
oak tannins leads, burnt raisins are
joined by orange and plum.
Finish:
What sweetness there was bitters out,
some dark chocolate trying to break
through. the oak tannins bow out leaving
a touch of orange and a little minty
element.
Comment:
There really is a fantastic nose on this lovely
sherry oaked mature whisky and the
deliciously juicy sherry and mature oak
on the palate does not disappoint.
Rather appropriately named Grandeur, it
is certainly grand - an elegant,
sumptuousness mature sherried dram.
