Glencairn
unveils next-generation leadership team
to drive innovation and growth.

The award-winning
Scottish glassware company Glencairn has
announced a series of strategic
director-level appointments as it
strengthens its leadership team to
support its next phase of innovation,
development and global expansion as a
premium glassware brand. Over the past
two years, the company has entered more
than 80 new countries, with its products
now sold in over 140 markets worldwide.
Glencairn has added three senior
industry figures to its leadership team,
each bringing extensive experience
across the drinks and packaging sectors.
The changes also mark the planned
retirement of founder Raymond Davidson,
who established the family business in
1981 and is widely recognised for
building Glencairn Crystal into an
internationally respected name within
the drinks industry.
Kirsty Nicholson, one of the whisky
industry’s leading creative
professionals, has been promoted to
director level after 12 years with the
company, having previously served as
Marketing and Design Manager. She has
received multiple award nominations and
led the marketing team to win Marketing
Campaign of the Year at the 2025
China-Scotland Business Awards, as well
as reaching the finals of this year’s
Women in Packaging Excellence Awards. In
her new role, she will continue to lead
the marketing team as the brand enters
its next stage of global growth.
Robyn Macdonald has joined the board,
bringing additional creative leadership
and expertise to Glencairn’s
internationally recognised design
capability. With over a decade of
experience in the packaging industry,
she will contribute to driving continued
product innovation and will work closely
with global partners and clients to
develop ambitious creative projects.
Aileen Logan, who brings more than 20
years of experience in the drinks
sector, has formally joined the
leadership team after several years with
the business. She will support the
company’s ongoing growth, focusing on
strengthening people, culture and
operational excellence, while helping to
shape Glencairn’s international
development.
The wider leadership structure remains
in place, with Jason Kennedy continuing
to lead the sales team and James Crilly
overseeing purchasing and procurement.
Scott Davidson has been appointed
Managing Director, succeeding his
brother Paul Davidson, who becomes
Chairman.
Founded 45 years ago, Glencairn has
grown from a small family-run business
into an internationally recognised
premium glassware brand. It is known for
its craftsmanship in producing bespoke
decanters for some of the world’s rarest
and most exclusive spirits. The company
is also behind the iconic Glencairn
Glass, the official whisky glass
worldwide, with more than 50 million
sold since its launch 25 years ago.
In recent years, Glencairn has expanded
its product portfolio through a series
of industry-leading innovations. A
long-time supporter of the whisky
industry’s Distillers One of One
Auction, the company produced luxury
decanters for more than a quarter of the
unique lots featured in last year’s
event.
Scott Davidson, Managing Director of
Glencairn Crystal, said: "These changes
mark an exciting new chapter for
Glencairn as we continue to evolve and
position the business for the future,
building on the family legacy that has
shaped the company for more than four
decades.
"With our strong new leadership team in
place, we are well positioned to guide
the business through its next generation
of growth, driving continued creativity,
pioneering innovation and international
expansion, while maintaining the
craftsmanship, quality and customer
focus that have defined Glencairn since
the beginning."
The company's continued success has also
been recognised through several major
awards. Last year, Glencairn received
The King’s Award for Enterprise for
Innovation and the Manufacturing
Innovation Award at the Insider Made in
Scotland Awards. It was also named a
finalist for Exporter of the Year at the
Lloyds British Business Excellence
Awards 2025.
