The latest
addition to The GlenAllachie Wood Series
is The GlenAllachie 14 Year Old Oloroso
Wood Finish, a combination of first and
second fill American oak barrels,
finished for over two years finishing in
Oloroso puncheons.
 The
GlenAllachie has unveiled the latest
addition to their Wood Finish Series,
The GlenAllachie 14 Year Old Oloroso
Wood Finish.
Initially matured in a combination of
first and second fill American oak
barrels, before being re-racked for over
two years finishing in Oloroso puncheons
which had been personally selected by
Master Distiller, Billy Walker.
The whisky was monitored frequently by
Billy to
ensure the achievement of balance
between wood and spirit influence,
before being bottled.
GlenAllachie say that the
resulting whisky is bursting with rich
sherry-matured indulgence; notes of
sticky raisins, goey dark chocolate
pudding, zesty orange and fresh
espresso, all coupled with classic
GlenAllachie honeyed charm.
Commenting on this exciting,
limited-edition release, Billy said, "As
soon as we acquired The GlenAllachie
Distillery, I knew exactly what
direction I wanted us to take the liquid
in; a single malt known for its bold,
indulgent sherried character.
"This UK bottling is no different, with
all those archetypal Oloroso tones you
would expect – rich cocoa, cinnamon
sticks, tangy orange and fresh ginger,
all alongside a warming mocha depth. A
sophisticated single malt that
exemplifies the exciting direction that
we have been taking The GlenAllachie
in."
As we have come to expect from The
GlenAllachie the new Oloroso Wood Finish
expression has been bottled to maximise
the flavour experience, at natural cask
strength of 55.4%, non-chill filtered
and with no added colouring

Nose:
Burnished Bronze.
Taste:
Rich butterscotch alongside warming
mocha, toasted almonds and gentle
pineapple.
