Distillery unveil limited edition 9 Year
Old peated single malt which will be
available exclusively at The Whisky
Shop's Buchanan Galleries and Princes
Square shops in Glasgow city centre.
The Glasgow Distillery is closing out a
milestone year with a special
limited-edition release crafted in
partnership with The Whisky Shop,
arriving just in time for the festive
season.
This exclusive bottling—restricted to
just 180 bottles—will be available only
at The Whisky Shop’s Buchanan Galleries
and Princes Square locations. Glasgow
1770 The Whisky Shop Exclusive is a 9
Year Old peated single malt that
highlights the distillery’s trademark
smoky style.
The whisky spent its first three years
in first-fill ex-bourbon barrels before
undergoing a further six years and three
months of maturation in a virgin
American white oak hogshead from Kelvin
Cooperage in Kentucky. The result is a
layered and indulgent flavour profile,
with hints of dark fruits, toffee,
salted caramel, BBQ smoke, bright orange
zest, and a lingering oak-spiced finish.
Bottled at 54% ABV, the expression is
non-chill filtered and presented at its
natural colour.
Mike Hayward, founder of The Glasgow
Distillery, said: "Working with The

little bit of our distillery into the
heart of Glasgow this festive season. We

Visitors to The Whisky Shop in Buchanan
Galleries will also be welcomed by a
dedicated window display, bringing a
touch of the distillery’s character to
the city centre and enhancing the
festive shopping experience.
This release comes during a landmark
year for The Glasgow Distillery, which
celebrated a decade of whisky production
in February with its first 10 Year Old
whisky—an anniversary bottling that sold
out in under 20 minutes. In 2025, the
distillery has further expanded its
award-winning Glasgow 1770 Core Range
with the introduction of Glasgow 1770
Ruby Port Cask Finish and Glasgow 1770
Bourbon Cask Matured, and opened its
doors to public tours for the first time
since its founding in 2012.

is priced at £85 and available now
exclusively at The Whisky Shop stores in
Glasgow city centre, Buchanan Galleries
and Princes Square.
