Bowmore has released a 19 year old French Oak Barrique matured limited edition single malt exclusively available from Amazon. I suspect this will not be available for very long so if you want to get hold of a bottle which is currently priced at £129 don't hang around you will find it here Amazon
and some more info on it here:

I'm a fan of wine cask matured whisky, being a fan of wine. Chateau Lagrange ain't the best in class, but hey, it does belong to Suntory, so it stays all in the family.
That said, I immediately raise my eyebrows the moment I am not told whether it's a white or red wine barrique, and which grape variety / type of wine. CL mostly produces red wine, but they do white, too. It's quite depressing how many whisky producers use wine casks but don't really tell anything about the type of wine, as if all wine was the same.
Not only it doesn't help the customer nor its education, but it also speaks of the fact the casks might not exactly be worth shouting out about.
In doubt I bought 2. If this ends up being bad, I can always sell it at twice the price, so hey. |

| Just spotted this post, I wonder if this will be a limited release from Bowmore which picks up good reviews then becomes very sought after. I am debating with myself whether to go for one or two bottles. |

Get it. You can return stuff to Amazon ages after you've bought it. Their CS doesn't bother, it costs less to them to accept a return 2 months after the purchase than argue about it.
You try the first, then if you don't like it you return the 2nd. |

| It is not too badly priced in todays market even as a drinker and previous limited release Bowmore whiskys do have a history of reselling for quite a bit more than the original asking price, tempting. |

I can see quite a few bottles heading to the online auction sites. Mine will be for drinking though, unless it starts changing hands for mad money then it will buy me a few bottles of something else. |

Do Amazon UK ship alcohol abroad? None of the European sites ship alcohol to the UK unless you buy through third party sellers. I'd have thought the same would apply to the UK site.
Edit: according to the last line here they don't ship Beers Wines or Spirits outside the UK:

| Grabbed myself a bottle. Looking forward to try it. I wonder if this won't be the last Amazon exclusive we see. |
