Ardbeg today announced the end of an era at the Islay distillery with the announcement that after 13 years overseeing whisky production the Distillery Manager Mickey Heads will retire at the end of October 2020.
The distillery has now began the search for a new distillery manager.

| It is certainly the end of another era at Ardbeg, I met Mickey a few years back at the distillery all the best to him. I am surprised that there isn't someone mentored under Mickey at Ardbeg stepping up. |

A really nice guy for sure!
I wish I could apply as I would love to be the one to made such amazing whisky but all I know about distilling is going on about 150 distillery tours which I think may not be enough ? |

If any of you were hoping to be offered to take over from Mickey Heads I am sorry to say the position is now filled, Ardbeg has announced the appointment of Mickey’s successor – Colin Gordon – who is joining as Distillery Production Manager.
