Glasgow Distillery unveil 1770 Signature Range which launches with the new 1770 Glasgow 2019 Release and will be followed later in the year by two new expressions, the 1770 Peated which has matured in ex-sherry butts and finished in virgin oak and the 1770 Triple Distilled which has matured in first fill American ex-bourbon casks collectively all three whiskies together will form the 1770 Glasgow Signature Range.
I do understand a new whisky company trying to get back some of the money it has shelled out to get to this stage of their production and these first bottlings are always going to be snapped up by collectors but if Glasgow Distillery sold them cheap they would be a target for the flippers so I would rather it was Glasgow making the profit rather than the flippers.
I do dislike these 50cl bottles myself, I may have been tempted to pay a slightly over the top price to taste the new whisky if it had been a full size bottle but I am happy to wait a few years to try it and by then we should get a better picture of what they are producing at Glasgow.
