The Glenmorangie distillery is marking its 175th anniversary with the release of a 16 year old single cask whisky which will only be available from the distillery in Tain.
Distilled and filled to cask on the 13th September 2001, it was matured in a first-fill American white oak ex-Bourbon cask, and was bottled on the 29th March 2018. The cask produced just 191 which have been bottled without chill filtration at a cask strength of 53.1% ABV. Each bottle of the 175th anniversary bottling is individually numbered.

| I know Glenmorangie single cask bottlings are a pretty rare thing but £650 is a hefty price for a 16 year old. Having said that if they had sold it for £100 then it would no doubt eventually find its way to the secondary market at some point in the future and fetch a big sum like £650, so I guess the whisky companies are now taking the profit away from the resellers as they are now well aware of what some collectors are willing and able to pay. |
