Glasgow based independent bottler Douglas Laing today announced the release of Scallywag Cask Strength Limited Edition No.1 which has been created using a collection of Speyside single malts including, amongst others, Mortlach, Macallan and Glenrothes. They are also offering you the chance to win a bottle of the new whisky.

Bottled at 53.6% the extra strength is sure to heighten the flavour and complexity of the standard Scallywag that we are now familiar with.

Some more info on the new Scallywag here:

Douglas Laing are offering you the chance to win a bottle of the new whisky via their Facebook page, I am sure most of you will be able to answer the competition question, if not you may need to cut down on your drinking. You will find the competition here:

I know it isnt an exact science the relationship between age and alcohol strength of whisky but a cask strength of 53.6%could suggest a good portion of older stuff in the mix, may be worth a try as the Scallywag aint too bad.

I think most distilleries go to Facebook and Twitter these days, although it's a large audience, a lot of us don't do either, I'm with Opel on this, shame ...

I don't have a facebook account and it doesn't ask me to log in. It just asked for my name, email address, and the answer to the question.

Perhaps someone else who uses your PC has a facebook account and the page recognises this so asks you to log in.

I was able to enter the comp without a facebook account using my laptop, perhaps using a mobile phone or ipad with the facebook apt installed will mean you will get asked to log in.
