With the increasing popularity of flavoured whiskies and Scotch cream liqueurs The BenRiach Distillery Company entered the Scotch Cream Liqueur market last Autumn with the launch of their Magnum Scotch Cream Liqueur and in that short time since its launch it has already picked up international honours with a Gold Medal at the 2014 San Francisco World Spirits competition.
Following the initial success of the Magnum Scotch Cream Liqueur the company have decided to embark on a focused campaign targeting both domestic and international markets.
I will just add that in the press release I got about the Magnum Scotch Cream Liqueur they do not mention the ABV or the size of the stainless steel flask or whether it was made exclusively with BenRiach single malt whisky.
Oddly the brands website doesn't mention the ABV or size of the flask but I dug a little deeper and found it is 70cl and bottled at 17%. The brands site doesn't mention if it is exclusively Benriach in Magnum or even if it is exclusively single malt whisky in it but the site does show some images of Benriach whisky casks. As far as I can make out there is no actual mention of Benriach single malt on the flask, I have no doubt there will be at least some in it.
I suspect we will see more of these Scotch flavoured drinks and cream liqueurs in the near future as the Scotch whisky industry plays catch up and tries to get a piece of the large market for flavoured American whisky which has appeared in recent times but i think they will need a higher ABV to get a decent bite of that market. _________________ There's no bad whisky.
