Douglas Laing & Co. the Glasgow based whisky specialists today announced the release of "Rock Oyster" Island Vatted Malt Whisky. Rock Oyster is a Small Batch bottling created using a selection of single malts sourced from distilleries on the Islands of Jura, Islay, Arran and Orkney.
Rock Oyster is non chill-filtered and has no added colouring and it has been bottled at a very respectable strength of 46.8% ABV. Douglas Laing describe the new Small Batch bottling as having a truly maritime and oceanic character of sea-salt, sweet peat, smoke, honey and pepper.
The new whisky joins Douglas Laing's other popular Regional Vatted Malts, Big Peat (Islay), Scallywag (Speyside) and Timorous Beastie (Highland).
