Fans of the The Glenlivet Nàdurra will be pleased to hear that The Glenlivet is expanding the brand into a range featuring different cask experiences. The first new permanent addition to the Nàdurra range is the first-fill ex-Oloroso sherry cask matured Glenlivet Nàdurra Oloroso.
The Glenlivet Nadurra Oloroso has no age statement, comes in a 1 litre bottle and has a bottling strength of 48% ABV, it is non chill filtered and it will be introduced to travel Retail Europe in May 2014

Sounds good but why have they dropped the age and cask strength if it is supposed to be a Nadurra expression. |

I have to say i am one of the fans of the Naduura which you mention William and i will certainly give this a go when i can get hold of a bottle, I wont be through an airport until June but i will certainly be looking for this.
I do wonder how much younger it is than the standard 16 year old but this can work well for a first fill sherry cask matured whisky. |

48% is the same strength as the current travel retail version of the Nadurra 16 which isnt too far removed from the standard Nadurra 16. This is quite appealing to me being first fill sherry cask matured. There should be some reviews of it around by the time i next travel, hopefully they are good. |

I'm flying via Frankfurt on Sunday - for sure they will not have new Nadura at Duty Free yet. |

I am a big fan of the Nadurra but i have to say i cant see how this is related to the Nadurra if it has no age statement and is not cask strength which is what i associate with the Naduura. |

".....The Glenlivet are giving the Nàdurra range a bit of a shake up with new permanent editions...............This first batch is bottled at 48% and will be available exclusively in travel retail (just as the first ever Nàdurra was back in 2005), but the real cask strength deal should be available around September/October time."
They'll be introducing the cask strength version to the wider market in Q4.
Nadurra means "natural" so the fact its non-chill filtered and not coloured means it slots into that range, it was also release to the travel retail market at 48% before they went cask strength on the wider release. I expect the travel retail release is just to get the tastebuds going before the full release. _________________ "Too much of anything is bad, but too much good whisky is barely enough." |

I wouldnt be surpised if it is priced more than the standard Nadurra 16 which seems to be a trend now for younger no age statement whiskies.

Maybe not at the moment, but it's the teaser, so I guess we'll see at the standard release point whether they choose to omit e150 and bring it inline with the 16yo. If they don't, then I guess it has nothing to do with the "Nadurra" range.....it'll just be a NAS, cask strength, unfiltered whisky from Glenlivet _________________ "Too much of anything is bad, but too much good whisky is barely enough." |

Well, there's nothing on the bottle or the box of my 16 year-old Nadurra cask strength that says it's natural colour either - I'm just assuming it is based on the name and what I've heard (it's pretty light coloured anyway). I would assume the Oloroso is natural colour as well. |
