Just noticed that MACKINLAY SHACKLETON THE JOURNEY RARE OLD HIGHLAND MALT WHISKY is now on the inventory of the LCBO in Ontario Canada. Going for $260.00
Canadian. Anybody try it? Comments? I believe it's about 100 pounds in UK. _________________ "Always carry a large flagon of whisky in case of snakebite and furthermore always carry a small snake."

Hi Murray, here is an article i wrote just over a year ago about the Mackinlay's Shackleton 2nd Edition The Journey:
http://www.scotchmaltwhisky.co.uk/mackinlaysshackletonthejourney.htm
The 2nd edition was as you would expect very similar to the first release which i reviewed back in 2011

I never got the chance to taste te 2 editions side by side but both were excellent and going by memory the 2nd edition was as i expected a replica of the first. I still have a unopened bottle of the first edition in the cupboard. _________________ There's no bad whisky. Just good whisky and better whisky. |

| Murray I had both Mackinlay's Shackleton bottles both very good, great that they bottled it at 47% and non chill filtered without coloring as it should be to make it authentic, i just wish Whyte & Mackay would realise there is no need for the heavy handed coloring in their other brands. |

| I have tasted the Mackinlays Shackleton a few times at tasting and it is a great dram but there are a few good whiskies i would choose first around the £100 price |

I watched a documentary about the making of this whisky a while ago. It was rather interesting.
I've never tasted it but by ask accounts it's very pleasant. |
