I came across this excellent 10 minute video on the Port Ellen Maltings and the complete process of malting, i.e., the building blocks of distilling malts, going into areas not normally available and with commentary by the operators...a detailed and fascinating explanation of the process.
Scroll down link page to video box.

Thank you for that, that was most interesting.
However, I did notice that they mistook one of the worker's name. The name on his helmet said "John MacDonald" and in the credits at the end they wrote it as "John McDonald".
I blame my OCD for that |

I enjoy videos on single malt scotch, especially those that are process-oriented because pictures and video "do say a thousand words". With this particular video,
you can almost almost touch, smell l and taste the malt as it goes through the malting process at Port Ellen before it goes to the distilleries. _________________ "Always carry a large flagon of whisky in case of snakebite and furthermore always carry a small snake."

| I wish more distilleries had videos on there websites taking you through there process but i guess that would interfere with the profitable distillery visiting side of the business. |
