|
|
Highland Park Thor 16 year old is HPs latest offering which i am told should be available next week. Apparently it is a special edition from there new "Viking Gods range". The whisky is 16 year old and 52.1% abv. It is named after Thor the god of thunder and sky, the god of war and warden of Valhalla, Thor is a powerful, strong and fierce character.
So will the Highland Park Thors character resemble its namesake
I understand that it contains some powerful smoky notes.
Thats all i know for now but i should know more later this week as i think it will be available from next week, so watch this space. _________________ There's no bad whisky. Just good whisky and better whisky. |

| Always room for another Highland Park in my cabinet, i would assume it wont be too expensive given its age. |

Today checked on HP's website: "Thor" is not yet presented.
About to price, I've found it at £120,00 on "Thewhiskyshop.com"
Price of other "Viking Gods series range"? |

Andrea, Thor should be available via Highland Parks website from next week. I think the whisky shop have jumped the gun by listing it, i wonder if they even have the stock to distribute yet. _________________ There's no bad whisky. Just good whisky and better whisky. |

£120 is a bit much even if it is a limted release. The Whisky Shop are generally more expensive, not a place i would consider shopping.
So what other bottles was in there "Viking Gods range". |

The whisky shops pricing is just incredible, ive never even come close to buying anything from them! I remember they had a 'bargain' Laphroiag 1/4 Cask for only £35!!! outrageous! It is surely tourists only who buy from them?
£120 is a bit much, all these viking bottles do seem to be, are they any good? _________________ In the land of the blind, the one eyed man is king |

I noticed that The Whisky Shop site has now removed the Highland Park Thor from there website. Looks like they jumped the gun by listing it and spoiled HPs launch.
I believe this is the first in the viking god range, at least i dont recall any other HP viking god bottlings.
All should be revealed next week and hopefully it isnt the price the whisky shop were trying to sell it for. _________________ There's no bad whisky. Just good whisky and better whisky. |

Hopefully the price the whisky shop had on the HP Thor wont be the price others are selling at.
The whisky shop does have some outrageous pricing for example i was just pricing a bottle of Glenlivet 21 Archive for a gift for the father-in-law and the whisky shop price was £154.99 The Whisky Exchange price was £99.99, a £55 difference |

I have just added a piece about the new Highland Park Thor and a tasting note (not my note HPs) to the whisky news page on the main site
www.scotchmaltwhisky.co.uk/highlandparkthor.htm
So the "Viking Gods range" as i referred to it is officially called the Highland Park Valhalla Collection. Highland Park Thor will be the first in a series of four limited release bottlings in the Valhalla Collection.
Should be in whisky specialist shops by Monday priced around £120 _________________ There's no bad whisky. Just good whisky and better whisky. |

It will take up some space in the whisky cabinet if all 4 bottles come in the viking ship style box/stand.
