Just an update on the Auchentoshan Switch. 20 UK & 20 US finalists have been selected and the UK final round will take place on 24 October, the US finalists will attend the final in Las Vegas on 26 October.

I have added a bit about it as well as a video of one of the entries from UK finalist Faye Woodcock from The Blind Pig, Glasgow, she is making an Old Fashioned using Auchentoshan Three Wood and a lemonade from scratch. For more info and to view the video of Faye see here:

I have never had an Old Fashioned, never really been a cocktail person, just watched the video it does look very tempting.

I have had a few Old Fashions in my time, usually in a hotel or more up market bar, not that i am in many of them. I like the sound of it made with Auchentoshan 3 Wood.

Never had one myself but i would imagine it wouldnt be cheap in a bar if they used single malt such as Auchentoshan 3 Wood to make an Old Fashioned. If i was paying i would rather have the 3 wood by itself but i suppse the point in the Auchentoshan Switch is not to attract the likes of me to Auchentooshan but to attract people unfamiliar with single malts.

Embarassed You are right John, there was a typo in the list of finalists i was sent.

I picked Fayes video out from the ones i watched on youtube, I think she should be in with a good chance of winning, well at least in my opinion after watching most of the finalists videos on youtube. She knows her stuff and she comes across well.

Cheers
