The Macallan MMXI Limited Release is the latest addition to the exclusive travel retail Macallan 1824 Collection.

The Macallan 1824 Collection Limited Release MMXI consists of just 1,824 bottles. Bottled at 48.2% ABV, It has been aged in sherry oak casks, some of which were first fill, creating fruity characteristics with hints of toffee apple, caramelised ginger and spice, with a long finish.

This MMXI comes in at the top of Macallans travel retail range which includes the Macallan Select Oak, Whisky Maker's Edition, Estate Reserve and Oscuro. Not sure on a price for the Macallan MMXI but it will obviously be more than the Oscuro which sells for around £400

It looks great...the decanter really does it justice. But at over £400, out of my league.

yes it does look great but out of my league also, but it is always good to look. They didnt let me know the price so i am not sure how much more than £400 it will be, all i know is that travel retail sells the Macallan Oscuro for £400 and this is slotting in above it in the 1824 collection.

here is a pic with the box for those interested

Laughing I wish. I have tasted the Macallan Oscuro which was brilliant but i suspect this one may be way out of my price range. Dont know why they didnt send me the price along with the rest of the info on the MMXI, i suppose it is one of those bottles if you have to ask the price you probably cant afford it.

I have had 3 bottles from the 1824 collection - the Macallan Select Oak was ok, the Whisky Maker's Edition and Estate Reserve were pretty good. I heard the Oscuro was very good.

Totallay agree Mac, for the money i would choose the Whisky Makers Edition.
