Scotland it has introduced a fresh line-up of aged
single malt whiskies for both their
Domestic and Global Travel Retails
whisky ranges, each range now offers

expressions to explore.

Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Fettercairn has introduced a refreshed
line-up for both their domestic and
global travel retail whisky ranges.
Kicking off their bicentennial
celebrations, Fettercairn now presents a
revitalised domestic selection and an
exclusive range for global travel
retail. Each range features three
distinct whiskies, highlighting
Fettercairn’s distinctive tropical house
style across various stages of
maturation.
The domestic line-up boasts Fettercairn
12 Year Old, 16 Year Old, and 24 Year
Old, while the global travel retail
range offers exclusives with Fettercairn
14 Year Old, 17 Year Old, and 25 Year
Old expressions.
These updated offerings present whisky
drinkers with new age statements to
explore, offering clear ranges across
different ages, prices, and purchase
locations, catering to both the desired
drinker and whisky gift shopper.
Each of the whiskies has been finished
in American White Oak ex-bourbon casks,
showcasing Fettercairn’s unique tropical
house style and the nuanced changes it
undergoes with time during the varying
maturation periods.
The entry level whisky in the domestic
range is the excellent Fettercairn 12
Year Old, (RRP £52) a 40% ABV whisky that embodies
the essence of the Highland distillery,
making it an ideal introduction to
Fettercairn's flavours.
This expression presents tasting notes
of sweet and fruity nectarine alongside
tropical fruits, followed by subtle
hints of roasted coffee, clove, and
ginger. Fettercairn 12 Year Old finishes
memorably with notes of sultanas and
black toffee. It's a versatile whisky,
perfect as a base for refreshing
highballs or fruity sours.
Moving on to Fettercairn 16 Year Old,
(RRP £87) previously a limited, annually released
whisky with various finishes, it now
stands confidently on its own and it
should be easier to get hold of a bottle. This
expression is finished in ex-bourbon
casks, non-chill-filtered, and presented
at 46.4% ABV. Whisky Maker Gregg Glass
and Distillery Manager Stewart Walker
intentionally chose this path for the 16
Year Old, aiming to provide whisky
enthusiasts with a natural progression
from the 12 Year Old. Expect grilled
pineapple and vanilla notes leading to flavours of passion fruit, rich honey,
and Turkish Delight, finishing with
hints of mandarin, cacao, and moist
ginger cake.
Completing the core domestic range is
the new Fettercairn 24 Year Old.
(RRP £500) Presented at 46.5% ABV, this pinnacle of
the core range is ideal for those
seeking rich flavours and a higher age
statement. Non-chill-filtered and
natural in colour, it fully embodies
Fettercairn's house style with notes of
sweet and cooked tropical fruits,
vanilla, and red liquorice,
finishing with a sweet, spiced
complexity.
The innovative Fettercairn 18 Year Old
(RRP £195)
will remain available annually in select
domestic markets, offered in strictly
limited releases. Finished in 100%
Scottish Oak, this expression marks the
debut release from the award-winning
Scottish Oak Programme, spearheaded by
Master Whisky Maker Gregg Glass. The
programme aims to establish a circular
economy for the whisky industry,
utilising locally and sustainably
sourced Scottish oak in whisky
production.
For global travel retail, Fettercairn
presents an exclusive range featuring
the 14 Year Old, 17 Year Old, and 25
Year Old expressions. Each of these
whiskies is non-chill-filtered, natural
in colour, and available in 70cl format.
The Fettercairn 14 Year Old
(RRP £70) is said to
capture the vibrant essence of tropical
house style, blending orchard fruit
flavours with subtle sweet spice for a
truly remarkable sip.
Next in the travel retail line-up,
Fettercairn 17 Year Old
(RRP £120) which represents
a transformative phase of the house
style, boasting deeper, richer notes of
honey, crème brûlée, and coconut.
Completing the travel retail trio is the
Fettercairn 25 Year Old,
(RRP £525) a window into
Fettercairn's rare and aged treasures.
This whisky is said to reveal a symphony
of sweet, cooked tropical fruits,
intertwined with hints of passion fruit,
warm vanilla, and freshly baked bread,
culminating in a delightfully spiced
finish.
Both the domestic and travel retail
refreshed offerings will be hitting
shelves this April, heralding the
start of Fettercairn's 200th Anniversary
celebrations throughout 2024.
