Fettercairn
unveils the 4th annual release in their
series of unique limited edition 16 year
old single malts.
 Its
that time of year once again,
Fettercairn distillery located at the
foothills of Cairngorm mountains in the
Highland of Scotland has unveiled their
4th annual release in their unique
Fettercairn 16 Year Old single malt
series.
For the Fettercairn 16 Year Old 2023
release, the whisky makers at
Fettercairn have explored the
distillery's extensive stock reserves to
present a whisky that has undergone
maturation in first-fill ex-Port Pipes
and ex-Bourbon casks.
This release, the Fettercairn 16 Year
Old 2023 edition, serves as a testament
to the craftsmanship and creativity of
the Fettercairn distillers. It showcases
a meticulously balanced spirit that is
said to highlight the enchanting
tropical characteristics unique to the
distillery's style.
Bottled at 46.4% ABV (non-chill
filtered), Fettercairn 16 Year Old is
said to present with a rich, golden
amber, in natural colour. To smell, warm
aromas of tropical fruit are layered
with berry fruits, rich cacao, sugared
almonds and floral top notes.
To taste, expect to enjoy seasonal
blackberries and raspberries which
interweave with natural vanilla and
caramel notes. Soft plum is balanced
with fresh baked ginger cake and
cherries while aged oak spice
accentuates the tropical house
characteristics.
First launched in 2020, each annual
limited-edition release has enjoyed
expert experimentation in creation,
through a range of finishes and malts
under the careful watch of award-winning
Master Whisky Maker Gregg Glass and the
talented team at Fettercairn. So each
annual release of the Fettercairn 16
really is unique and so far pretty
outstanding drams, hopefully this is as
good as its predecessors.
The 70cl offering of Fettercairn 16 Year Old 2023
has a RRP of £82, there is also a 1
litre bottle which will be available in
