The first new
whisky of 2022 to first foot us at
Scotch Malt Whisky is the latest release
in Douglas Laing's innovative 'The
Epicurean Wood Series', this time up the
whisky creators at DL have given us The
Epicurean White Port Finish Limited
Edition.
 2022's first foot as far as new
whisky release announcements here at
Scotch Malt Whisky goes is rather
appropriately a tall, dark and handsome
stranger going by the name of 'The
Epicurean', here is hoping he brings us
all Health and Happiness for 2022.
Seriously, this is the sixth
limited release Lowland blended malt
whisky in Douglas Laing's innovative
'The Epicurean Wood Series', this time
up the whisky creators at Douglas Laing
have given us The
Epicurean White Port Finish Limited
Edition.
The
Epicurean White Port Finish Limited
Edition is a marriage of selected
Lowland single malt whiskies which has undergone a finishing period in a
single White Port cask which produced
only 414 bottles.
Bottled at what should be a flavoursome
strength of 48% ABV, it is offered
without colouring or chill-filtration,
and is said to be "perfectly fruity and
packed with fresh, zesty charm, balanced
with a delicious sugary sweetness".
Commenting on the new limited edition
bottling, Jenny Rogerson, Head of
Marketing at Douglas Laing said: "Our
Epicurean brand is characterised by his
own effervescent, adventurous
personality, and the spirit within is
the ultimate distillation of Scotland’s
Lowland region, representing the
archetypally fresh, vibrant flavour
profile of the Malt Whiskies distilled

lend themselves particularly well to
this Limited Edition Wood Series, which
seeks to compare and contrast a
cross-section of fascinating finishes."
Presented as usual in Douglas Laing's
creative cartoon like premium gift tube,
The Epicurean White Port Finish is expected
to retail around £59.99 and will be
available from specialist online whisky
