Deanston adds
a Virgin Oak Cask Strength expression to
its core range line-up.
 Straight from the cask to your glass,
Deanston Distillery, nestled along the
banks of the River Teith in
Stirlingshire, has announced the release
of the inaugural batch of Deanston
Virgin Oak Cask Strength.
This limited-edition whisky embarked on
its journey by being initially aged in
barrels previously home to American bourbon, imparting that
distinctive and uniquely waxy, citrusy
character that distinguishes Deanston.
Subsequently, it underwent a 12-month
finishing period in virgin American oak
barrels sourced all the way from the
Kelvin Cooperage in Kentucky. This final
maturation in pristine oak casks bestows
upon it a depth of flavour, featuring
bold notes of warming spices, candied
fruit, green apple, and citrus, all
harmoniously balanced.
Deanston Virgin Oak Cask Strength Batch
1 is said to authentically embody
Deanston's distinct waxy character and
signature style. It is unadulterated by
added colour, unburdened by chill
filtration, and asserts itself with an
what should be a very flavoursome cask
strength of 58.5% ABV.
Although there will be limited
availability each year of the Cask
Strength expression it joins the ranks
of the outstanding and highly acclaimed
Deanston Virgin Oak bottling in
Deanston's core range line-up.

Batch 1 has a RRP of £60 and will be available from specialist online whisky
