The Dalmore Vintage 2006 & 2009

The Dalmore Highland Single Malt Whisky has introduced the next annual instalment of their limited release Vintage Collection, The Dalmore Vintage Collection 2024 features two whiskies: The Dalmore Vintage 2009 and The Dalmore Vintage 2006.

The annual Vintage Collection celebrates The Dalmore’s enduring tradition of hand-selecting and crafting whiskies of remarkable character, a practice upheld by Dalmore’s whisky makers for over 50 years. Each November, these masters assess casks in the distillery’s Alness warehouses, taking advantage of the cooler autumn months, which allow the spirit to fully reveal its character after the summer warmth. Only a select few casks that meet The Dalmore’s highest standards for quality and style are chosen for the upcoming Vintage Collection release, featuring whiskies that are 15 and 18 years old.

Each whisky in The Dalmore Vintage Collection highlights unique elements of The Dalmore’s signature style. For 2024, the collection explores rich, dessert-like flavours:

The Dalmore Vintage 2009 15 Year Old bottled at 48.9% ABV, is said to reveal notes of dark plum, cracked black pepper, and a hint of Manuka honey on the nose, with a palate of morello cherries, dates, candied Seville orange, fresh figs, and light cacao. The finish brings layers of rich plum, moist ginger cake, roasted chestnut, and delicate wood spice.

Crafted through initial maturation in American white oak ex-bourbon barrels, both whiskies undergo a refined dual finish in Matusalem Sherry casks and 10 year old Tawny Port pipes. These exceptional casks, sourced exclusively from esteemed winemakers González Byass and Graham’s Port, enhance The Dalmore’s spirit, exemplifying the unique partnerships that also feature in The Dalmore’s Cask Curation Series.

The Dalmore Vintage 2006 18 Year Old single malt whisky bottled at 47.2% ABV, it is said to offer an inviting aroma of Sherry-soaked raisins, roasted figs, cedar wood, and honey. On the palate, notes of dark fruit merge with hints of liquorice and cacao, evolving into layers of bergamot and blood orange. The finish is long and complex, with lingering antique Sherry notes showcasing rich berries, liquorice, cassia bark, and dark chocolate.

This whisky began its journey in American white oak ex-bourbon barrels before a refined finish in rare, aged Matusalem and Amoroso Sherry casks, carefully selected to enhance its depth and character.

The Dalmore Vintage 2009 and The Dalmore Vintage 2006 are exclusive, limited-edition releases, bottled at specific strengths chosen by The Dalmore whisky makers. Each whisky is non chill-filtered, presented in its natural colour to honour the purity of the spirit.

The Vintage Collection is elegantly packaged in powder blue, a shade inspired by the autumn season at the distillery, when The Dalmore whisky makers select each vintage. The packaging features a sophisticated geometric design, accented with a striking silver detail at the base. Both the bottle and carton proudly display the vintage year in silver and bear the iconic 12-point Royal Stag, symbolizing The Dalmore’s royal heritage and renowned status worldwide.

The Dalmore Vintage 2009 15 Year Old has a RRP of £173 and you will need to dig a little deeper in your pocket to taste The Dalmore Vintage 2006 18 Year Old it has a RRP of £403, they will both be available from November from
