raise funds & awareness for The Girl
Effect at “Whisky and Women Unite”
celebration.
In honour of International Women’s Day (IWD),
a worldwide celebration held on 8th
March 2012 to recognise the economic,
political and social achievements of
women past, present and future.
Award-winning boutique Scotch whisky
maker, Compass Box Whisky Co., renowned
for its fresh and innovative approach to
this once staid category, along with
illustrious whisky bar and restaurant
Albannach, have announced the first
annual "Whisky & Women Unite" whisky and
cocktail party to benefit The Girl

Effect is a charitable organisation
investing in adolescent girls to fight
poverty worldwide.
A whisky and cocktail party open to the
public will be held at Albannach, a
stylish temple to whisky overlooking
Trafalgar Square in the heart of London.
Guests can purchase International
Women’s Day Compass Box cocktails
created by the Albannach team (specially
priced at £6 each during Happy Hour). A
portion of the proceeds - £2 from each
drink - will go to benefit The Girl
Effect.
The Compass Box team will be on hand to
offer bespoke whisky tastings of their
delicious range, while Albannach will
lead a silent charity auction of some
tempting morsels.
Compass Box will also host International
Women’s Day events on March 8th in New
York, San Francisco and Beijing.
