The Clydeside
Distillery which only opened in 2017 has
picked up a 5 Star Quality Assurance
award from VisitScotland, Scotland's
national tourism organisation.
The Clydeside Distillery, situated in
the pumphouse building which once
controlled entry into the Glasgow
Queen’s Dock, in the heart of the city
of Glasgow has earned itself a
prestigious five star Quality Assurance
award from VisitScotland, Scotland's
national tourism organisation.
Quality Assurance is the name
VisitScotland give to their official
grading system for tourism businesses
and all their associated schemes and it
is only the highest standard tourist
attraction which picks up a five star
award so it is needless to say that the
folks at The Clydeside Distillery are
rather pleased about the receiving such
an accolade for the distillery which
only opened back in 2017.
The distillery has earned this award
through their innovative approach to
customer care. The Clydeside offers
visitors a range of bespoke tours and
tastings, allowing people to dive deep
into the fascinating story of the
attraction before sampling some of
Scotland’s finest drams with the help of
an expert guide to recommend the perfect
whisky to match food choices or
preferences.
They were highly praised for the
excellent high-quality produce used in
the making of the dishes featured on the
café’s menu with much of the produce
used being Scottish or locally sourced.
The attraction offers guests to try the
Taste of Scotland Platter which is
carefully chosen to showcase Scotland’s
regional specialties.

The Clydeside Distillery is owned by
Morrison Glasgow Distillers Ltd, who's
Chairman, Tim Morrison is the great
grandson of John Morrison, who
originally built The Queen’s Dock in
1877. Tim, formerly of Morrison Bowmore
Distillers is current proprietor of the
AD Rattray Scotch Whisky Company.
Tim Morrison commented on the

Tour:
Visitors taking the three part one hour Clydeside
Tour can see Glasgow’s links to the
whisky industry brought to life through
words, pictures and film as they make
their way through 140 years of history
as part of a self-led and guided tour.
The Pump House once controlled entry
into The Queen’s Dock, one of the city’s
most famous shipping ports built by
Morrison and Mason in 1877. This ensured
Customs and Excise could keep a close
eye on goods in and out, including
Scotch whisky.
For the second part of The Clydeside
Tour an expert guide will show you
around Clydeside Distillery itself. Meet
the distillery's craftsmen as they
handcraft pure new make spirit using
traditional methods and time-honoured
skills while enjoying the spectacular
view over the Clyde from the gleaming
contemporary Still House.
Finally, to round off the tour, you can
savour Three Wee Drams from across
Scotland in Tasting Room with the help
of the expert guide and at the end of
your tour, you will have the chance to
purchase your favourite dram to take
home from the distillery shop.

Whisky Tour:
A sublime sensory experience. Following
the Dockside Story and Distillery Tour,
enjoy tasting 5 wee drams of Single Malt
Whisky, each carefully paired with
exquisite Artisan Chocolate. Maximum
number: 6 people per tour, 1 hour 30
minutes.

Manager Tour:
An exclusive, behind-the-scenes tour,
the two hour tour is hosted by
Distillery Manager, Alistair McDonald.
Features Alistair's personal selection
of premium single malt whiskies for
tasting, Clydeside New Make Spirit and

tour.
