Bladnoch has
unveiled its 2024 Peated Collection of
Lowland single malt whiskies. This
release includes the Bladnoch Alinta
Reserve and three exclusive Peated
Single Cask whiskies, each offering
unique flavours for those who appreciate
a dram with depth and fire.
Bladnoch, Scotland's southernmost
distillery, has unveiled its 2024 Peated
Collection of Lowland single malt
whiskies, celebrating the distillery's
unique peated heritage. This
limited-edition collection, curated by
Master Distiller Dr. Nick Savage,
highlights Bladnoch’s bold Galloway
spirit and innovative approach to whisky
making.
The 2024 Peated Collection features four
single malts crafted with peated barley,
showcasing the distinct character of
Bladnoch’s peated casks maturing in its
207-year-old bluestone warehouses. This
release includes the Bladnoch Alinta Reserve and
three exclusive Peated Single Cask
whiskies, each offering unique flavours
for those who appreciate a dram with
depth and fire. The collection follows
the success of Bladnoch’s inaugural
Peated Collection in 2023.
Alinta, meaning "fire" in indigenous
Australian languages, inspires the
Alinta Reserve, a limited release of
just 2,000 bottles. For 2024, this
whisky has been matured in Pedro Ximénez
sherry casks, delivering aromas of
smoked apricot jam and woodland notes,
with a palate of smoky cola cubes,
cinnamon, and nutmeg, finishing with a
warm campfire glow.
The Peated Single Cask whiskies are
crafted from Bladnoch's rare 2009
stocks, made entirely with peated barley
during the distillery’s time under
previous owners, Raymond and Colin
Armstrong. Since joining Bladnoch in
2019, Dr. Savage has continued the
legacy of peated spirit production,
drawing from these precious stocks to
create three distinct expressions for
2024, matured in Tokaji, Bourbon, and
Rum casks.
- Bladnoch
2009 Tokaji Barrel, bottled at 51.7%
ABV and limited to 224 bottles,
reveals notes of fresh-cut grass,
apricots, and chocolate orange,
finishing with a campfire warmth.
- Bladnoch
2009 Bourbon Barrel, with an ABV of
55% and limited to 192 bottles,
offers smoky barbecue aromas with
apple and lemon, a palate of smoky
banana cake, and a dry, smoky
finish.
- Bladnoch
2009 Rum Barrel, at 54.2% ABV and
limited to 158 bottles, delivers
tropical fruit and smoky honey on
the nose, smoky apple pie with
Refreshers sweets on the palate, and
a long, sweet finish.

centuries and the Peated Collection
shines a light on the breadth and
quality of the distillery’s maturing
stocks.

incredibly diverse range of whisky
maturing in the warehouses, including
exceptional peated single malt from our
2009 stocks, and our Peated Collection
is a celebration and a tribute to this
unique part of our history.

platform to showcase our bold Galloway
spirit, which is symbolic of the area
and the community."
Each single malt in the Bladnoch Peated
Collection is non-chill filtered and
natural in colour. Bladnoch Alinta
Reserve retails for £120 GBP and each
Peated Single Cask whisky is priced at
£200 GBP and can be purchased direct
from the Bladnoch distillery website.
