Douglas Laing & Co. has unveiled their Big Peat Fèis Ìle 2026 Limited Edition – a specially crafted small batch release commemorating Islay and the 40th Anniversary of the island's legendary festival. Created to honour four decades of Fèis Ìle, this limited edition pays tribute to the heritage, community and enduring enthusiasm that have established the festival as a must-visit event for Islay Whisky enthusiasts around the world.

Every year, Fèis Ìle turns Islay into a vibrant celebration of Whisky, culture and friendship, welcoming visitors from across the globe to experience the island at its liveliest. This release reflects that unmistakable energy – capturing not only the festival itself, but also the people, traditions and shared experiences that continue to shape its legacy.

Big Peat has long united "his" loyal fans, and the 2026 Edition proudly continues that tradition with a distinctive celebratory design. This year’s bespoke packaging showcases a mosaic-inspired label created from photographs submitted by Big Peat supporters worldwide, with each image forming part of the iconic bearded Islay figure. Much like every dram contributes to the character of a blend, every individual featured represents a meaningful part of Big Peat’s journey – a tribute to Islay and to the worldwide community who raise a glass in “his” name each year.

For the 2026 Fèis Ìle Edition, Big Peat brings together "his" handpicked Single Malts from celebrated Islay distilleries before enhancing the spirit through a finishing period in Pedro Ximénez Sherry casks. This luxurious cask influence adds a rich layer of Sherry sweetness and complexity while complementing Big Peat’s unmistakable smoky profile.

On the palate, Douglas Laing say to expect an explosion of bold sweet peat smoke from the very first sip – everything Islay is renowned for: abundant peat, maritime smoke and unmistakable island character, now intertwined with notes of dried figs, sticky dates, freshly roasted coffee, toasted walnuts and dark cocoa. The finish is long and velvety, with powerful peat balanced by elegant Sherry richness.

Bottled at a natural cask strength of 52.6% ABV and presented in a premium bespoke carton, this limited edition showcases Big Peat at "his" boldest – authentic, uncompromising and memorable.
