Douglas Laing
unveils an 8 year old limited edition
expression of Big Peat as its Feis Ile
release for 2020.
 Douglas Laing today unveiled Big Peat
8 Year Old A846 Feis Ile 2020 edition,
those of you who have ever travelled
around Islay will recognise 'A846' as
the road that takes whisky fans around
the whisky island from one distillery to
the next but sadly due to the Covid-19
pandemic peaty whisky fans were unable
to make the annual pilgrimage to Islay
for the annual 'Feis Ile', Festival of
Music and Malt, where Douglas Laing would
have normally unveiled what has now become an
annual Islay Festival limited edition of
Big Peat.
The Big Peat 8 Year Old A846 is a
limited edition of 3000 bottles which
have been bottled at 46% ABV with no
added colouring or chill filtration and
as you would expect from the artistic
folks at Douglas Laing the packaging is
adorned with graphics depicting the Big
Peat character himself next to a A846
road sign on Islay.
Commenting on Big Peat’s latest Feis Ile
edition, Cara Laing, Director of Whisky
in the Glasgow based family business
behind the Big Peat blended malt whisky
said: "Each year, we proudly donate to
the Feis Ile charity, an organisation
that works tirelessly to showcase Islay
to the world. At a time when many of us
are dreaming of one day making the
journey back to the Queen of the
Hebrides once more, a sip of Big Peat’s
A846 Edition seeks to bring his
much-loved island home to you, via its
unmistakably "Islay" notes of chewed
leather, streaky bacon, punchy peat
smoke and rock salt."
Continuing Feis Ile celebrations, the
independent Whisky specialist is
currently hosting a competition on Big
Peat’s Facebook page (Facebook.com/bigpeat)
whereby fans of the brand can enter for
a chance to win 1 of 40 tasting packs,
and join the Douglas Laing team for a
virtual tasting in June 2020.
Big Peat 8 Year Old A846 Feis Ile 2020
edition will be available from 8th June
2020 with a RRP of £45, you will find
