The Ben Nevis Distillery is one of the
oldest licensed distilleries in Scotland
and is located at the foot of Scotland's
highest mountain, Ben Nevis. The Ben
Nevis distillery was established in 1825
by Long John McDonald, a 6ft 4in
descendant of a ruler of the western
Scottish kingdom of Argyll. In 1989 the
distillery was sold by Whitbread to
Mitsui, partner of the Japanese
whisky-makers Nikka. The new owners
restored production of malt but not
grain whisky in 1990 under the name Ben
Nevis Distillery Co Ltd. The philosophy
of the Ben Nevis distillery is one of
quality not quantity and consequently,
Ben Nevis Malt Whisky can only be found
on sale in a handful of selected shops
throughout the world.

Ben Nevis Tasting Notes

 Ben Nevis 10 year old Single Malt
Taste: Soft oils, citrus notes and very
big oak on the malt, but sweet enough to
chew forever.
Finish: Long, hints of bitter roast
coffee against the sweet oils
Ben Nevis 26 Year Old Single Malt
Nose: Sweet, malty bouquet with rich hints of smoke and vanilla.
Taste: Rich, full bodied, aromatic
Finish: Delicious long of finish.
