 Bailie Nicol
Jarvie is named after a fictional
character from Sir Walter Scott's "Rob
Roy". He was a Glaswegian magistrate who
tackled a fierce Highlander with a red
hot poker.
The Bailie's blender
adopts the novel approach of selecting
larger amounts of first-rate malts from
a smaller range. In addition, the malts
are selected to complement one another,
and create a complex flavour which is
more than the sum of its parts. What the
blender has sought for The Bailie, is
lightness and subtlety, character and
interest; a delicate balance of sweet
Speysides and aromatic Highlands.
Bailie
Nicol Jarvie is a smooth, premium
quality blended whisky with notes of
vanilla, pears and smoke. It's a
delicate blend of sweet Speyside,
aromatic Highland and peaty Islay malts
(total malt content 60%), blended with
only the finest grain whisky.

Blended Whisky.
Colour:
Deep rich mahogany with shimmering
highlights.
Nose:
Sweet and well-balanced, notes of
vanilla, pears and possibly violets,
some nuts and fresh hay.
Taste:
A full flavour, well balanced with a
good body and a very slight trace of
smoke. Every bit as mouth-watering on
the palate as the nose suggests, with
some lemon tartness countering the
rich maltiness and almost chewable
grain. Perhaps the finest and most
supremely constructed of all Scotland's
lightweight whiskies.
Finish:
Warm, balanced, with a whiff of smoke.
Very long for such a fragile blend, with
an astonishing depth of simple malt and
toffee.
