Scottish folk
rock band Skerryvore appointed as
Ardnahoe distillery's global brand
ambassador.
Islay's Ardnahoe
Distillery is teaming up with veteran
international Scottish folk-rock band
Skerryvore, appointing the band as the
distillery's first global brand
ambassadors. The partnership was
announced at the annual Fèis Ìle whisky
festival, where Skerryvore gave a
surprise performance at Ardnahoe,
located in the northeast corner of the
renowned whisky island.
As ambassadors, Skerryvore will host
special whisky sessions during their
North American and European tours in the
coming months, introducing Ardnahoe and
other bottling's from Ardnahoe owners
Hunter Laing & Co whisky range to a new
audience of music lovers. They will also
promote the whisky at regular shows and
festivals.
Additionally, Ardnahoe plans to release
a special 20th anniversary bottling for
the band in 2025, celebrating two
decades since Skerryvore first took to
the stage.

they promote Scottish music and

Last month, Ardnahoe launched its first
bottling, the Ardnahoe Inaugural Release
(£70), a limited edition 5 Year Old
Islay single malt Scotch whisky. Crafted
by three generations of the
Glasgow-based Laing family since the
1940s, this release marks the first
whisky from a new Islay distillery since
2009.
The Inaugural Release is said to boast
classic Islay characteristics with Islay
peat smoke on the nose, and flavours of
custard, ginger, lemon zest, and baked
apples on the palate, culminating in a
long, smoky finish. Matured in a
combination of ex-bourbon and ex-Oloroso
sherry casks, and bottled at 50% ABV, it
is described as offering a harmonious
balance of peat and smoke with a sweet
fruitiness and remarkable depth of
flavour.
I haven't yet tasted the Ardnahoe
Inaugural Release yet
so I cant comment on its quality or
indeed how peaty and sherried it is but
you would be hoping for something rather
special given its price tag of £70 for a
bottle, there is a short tasting note from the
