Ardbeg
Distillery manager Mickey Heads toasts
his retirement with his successor Colin
Gordon.

An era came to an end at the Ardbeg
Distillery on the Isle of Islay today as
Mickey Heads the Ardbeg Distillery
manager for the past 13 years set down
his hydrometer and hung up his hi-vis
jacket for the last time. To mark the
occasion Mickey raised a celebratory
dram of the Ardbeg 10 year old with his
successor, Colin Gordon, who will be
taking up the role of Ardbeg Distillery
Production Manager.
It wont be the last Ardbeg whisky fans
will see of Mickey though as he will
stay on as Chair of the Ardbeg
Committee, which brings together
thousands of committed Ardbeg fans from
around the world.
If you fancy raising a dram of Ardbeg
yourself then you will find the current
Ardbeg
whisky range which Mickey has had a hand
in creating including most recently the
Ardbeg 19 Year Old Traigh Bhan Batch
22 and the
Ardbeg An Oa
which are all
available from specialist online
whisky retailers such as
The Whisky Exchange,
The Whisky Shop and
Master of Malt
