Review of the
recently released anCnoc 2002 Vintage.
anCnoc
single malt whisky which is produced at
the Knockdhu distillery in Speyside has
just launched its latest whisky in its
popular Vintage series of single malts,
the anCnoc 2002 Vintage.
The anCnoc 2002 Vintage was bottled in
March 2017 making it around 15 years old
for those of you who like to put an age
on a whisky. It was matured in a
combination of Spanish and American oak
casks in traditional dunnage warehouses
then bottled at 46% ABV with no added
colour and no chill-filtering.
A limited release of 1200 cases
globally, including the UK, US, Canada,
Sweden and Japan, it has an RRP of £65
William
Morrison's Tasting Notes:
Nose: A fantastic anCnoc
nose, delicious honey and orange citrus,
a touch of sweet vanilla and spice when
you dig deeper.
Taste: Creamy toffee and zesty
Satsuma coats the palate, quickly joined by some
spice and a touch of liquorice.
Finish: Long, the toffee and
Satsuma mellow leaving the oak and spice
to take the final curtain.
Comment: Another outstanding
anCnoc vintage release, citrus, spice
and all things nice. You could happily
nose this all night and the palate
confirms the nose. Another quality easy
drinking anCnoc vintage and a cracking
dram for a warm summers evening.
SMW Score 91/100
