Aberlour add
14 Year Old expression to their Double
Cask line-up.
 Aberlour
has added a fourth expression to complete its Double Cask matured range,
the Aberlour 14 Year Old Double Cask
which joins the existing Aberlour 12
Year Old, 16 Year Old and 18 Year Old
Double Cask expressions in
the line-up offering whisky drinkers an
interesting incite into how a single
malt whisky develops after another
couple of years under the same
maturation conditions.
Aberlour 14 Year Old Double Cask is
produced in unique batches, a
combination of hand-selected aromatic Oloroso
casks and a significant portion of
first-fill American oak casks which
Aberlour say enhances the recognisably rich flavour
and provide a delicate complexity like
no other single malt in the Aberlour
aged range.
Aberlour says that the result of the
combination of these two types of casks
is a balanced 14 Year Old with a sweet
fruity taste, bringing together notes of
ripe blackberries and aromatic spice,
and a finish of creamy complexity from
the higher proportion of first-fill
American Oak casks.
Graeme Cruickshank, Master Distiller at
Aberlour commented on this new addition
to the Double Cask line-up saying:

Nose:

ripe cherry.
