Aberfeldy Distillery unveils exclusive
24 Year Old White Port Double Cask
Finish.
Dewar's Aberfeldy Distillery is inviting
whisky lovers to journey from the heart
of Highland Perthshire to Portugal's
famed Douro Valley this summer with the
launch of Aberfeldy 24 Year Old White
Port Double Cask Finish, a new
distillery-exclusive single malt that
celebrates the meeting of two great
traditions of craftsmanship.
The latest addition to the distillery's
Exceptional Cask Series, the
limited-edition release has been matured
for 24 years before receiving a finish
in carefully selected White Port casks
sourced from Portugal's renowned Douro
Valley. The result is an elegant single
malt that brings together Scottish
whisky making and Portuguese winemaking,
combining Aberfeldy's signature honeyed
character with the fresh, fruit-forward
influence of White Port.
Rather than dominating the spirit, the
White Port casks are said to enhance
Aberfeldy's naturally warm and balanced
profile, creating a bright and
expressive whisky layered with ripe
orchard fruits, honeyed apricots, citrus
blossom and soft vanilla, alongside
gentle nuttiness and a smooth, lingering
finish. Rich and decadent in style, it
reveals ripe nectarines and delicate
honeysuckle before finishing with subtle
hints of warm, nutty cereals, delivering
the depth and complexity expected of a
well-aged single malt while introducing
a lighter, more vibrant character suited
to the summer months.
The release continues Aberfeldy's
exploration of wine cask finishing,
building on a collection of expressions
that demonstrate how carefully selected
wine casks can complement and elevate
the distillery's celebrated honeyed
style. Previous releases have showcased
the influence of Tuscan red wine and
Cadillac French wine casks, highlighting
the versatility and creativity that
underpin the distillery's whisky-making
philosophy.

deliberate one. Port cask maturation is
often known for bringing a lively
character to whisky, but White Port
offers something particularly fresh and
vibrant. Rich in notes of citrus peel,
stone fruits and delicate nuttiness, the
casks complement rather than overpower
Aberfeldy's signature honeyed style,
creating an expression that feels
bright, elegant and perfectly suited to
the season.
“With this release, we wanted to capture
something unexpected: a whisky that
retains the depth and refinement
expected of a 24-Year-Old Single Malt
while introducing a brighter, more
expressive character through the White
Port finish. It is a whisky that
transports you, offering a taste of
Portugal through the lens of Aberfeldy
craftsmanship."
Only 252 bottles of Aberfeldy 24 Year
Old White Port Double Cask Finish have
been produced, making it both a highly
collectible release and a distinctive
tasting experience that reflects the
distillery's commitment to
craftsmanship, innovation and
provenance. The whisky is available
exclusively from Dewar's Aberfeldy
Distillery and the distillery's online
store from 7 July, priced at £350.
Visitors to the distillery can also
enjoy a dram at the Distillery Bar
throughout the summer for £13.
